COURSE OVERVIEW

The ORE Part 2 Intensive Masterclass is designed specifically for candidates preparing for the ORE Part 2 examination, particularly those who already have an examination date booked or are approaching their exam.

The programme combines structured mock examinations, hands-on clinical practice and targeted individual feedback to help candidates build confidence, improve clinical technique and become fully familiar with examination standards and expectations.

The course is delivered in a structured, exam-focused environment, with candidates receiving continuous guidance, demonstrations and feedback throughout both days.

COURSE STRUCTURE

DAY 1 — Manikin Mock & Clinical Practice
A full day of hands-on operative training, including two manikin mocks conducted under examination-style conditions, followed by individual feedback and targeted revision.

DAY 2 — OSCE • DTP • Medical Emergency Mock
A focused day covering OSCE stations, Dental Treatment Planning (DTP) and medical emergency scenarios through structured mock examinations and targeted feedback.

DAY 1 — MANIKIN MOCK & CLINICAL PRACTICE

Day 1 is built around two full manikin mocks. The morning session consists of a formal mock examination conducted under appropriate examination conditions. In the afternoon, candidates complete a second revision mock, allowing them to apply feedback and improve their technique.

FEEDBACK & DEMONSTRATION

MANIKIN TRAINING — KEY PROCEDURES

Restorative Procedures

·        Class II cavity preparation and restoration

·        Class III composite restoration

·        Class IV composite restoration

·        Amalgam cavity preparation, where applicable

Crown & Tooth Preparation

·        Anterior crown preparation

·        Posterior crown preparation

·        Tooth preparation accuracy

·        Margin design

·        Taper

·        Clearance

Rubber Dam & Matrix Techniques

·        Rubber dam application

·        Matrix band placement

·        Wedging techniques

Finishing & Polishing

·        Finishing of restorations

·        Polishing techniques

·        Achieving appropriate anatomy, margins and surface finish

DAY 2 — OSCE, DTP & MEDICAL EMERGENCY MOCK

Day 2 will focus on the non-manikin components of the ORE Part 2 examination. The day will include structured mock examination stations covering OSCE, Dental Treatment Planning (DTP) and medical emergency scenarios.

OSCE
Practice through examination-style OSCE stations designed to develop candidates’ communication, clinical reasoning and structured approach.

DTP — Dental Treatment Planning
Candidates will work through treatment-planning scenarios designed to develop a systematic approach to diagnosis, treatment planning and justification.

Medical Emergency Mock
Candidates will participate in simulated medical emergency scenarios, allowing them to practise their response, communication and management under examination conditions.
